In 1998 John and Linda Lynch established the Lynch Family Legacy Scholarships to benefit student-athletes. Through the scholarship program, the Lynch family provides financial assistance for high school senior student-athletes in the Tampa Bay and Denver areas to apply towards tuition at the college of their choice.

Scholarship applicants are chosen based on their academic performance, athletic accomplishments, and community involvement. They also must submit an essay and 3 letters of recommendation. Financial need is also considered. To date $1.8 million has been awarded to student-athletes through these scholarships.

Tampa Scholarships

Four $2,500 scholarships are presented to high school senior varsity student-athletes from the Hillsborough and Pinellas County areas.   Applicants are chosen based on academics, athletics, community involvement, financial need, leadership, and other intangible qualities.  The application process will close on April 1, 2025 at midnight EST.

The 2025 application for Hillsborough and PInellas County will be available early November and can be found here.

Denver Area Scholarships

Four $24,000 scholarships are presented to high school senior varsity student-athletes from the Denver and greater Colorado area.  Applicants are chosen based on academics, athletics, community involvement, financial need, leadership, and other intangible qualities.  The application process will close on April 1, 2025 at midnight EST.

The 2025 application for the Denver area will be available early November and can be found here.
