This past year has been great for me career-wise. I've started working at Vortex Biotechnology during the school year, which is a biotech startup working on curing cancer! This summer I'm also interning at the Clinical Translational Research Center at the Anschutz medical campus. Here we process clinical trial samples which I find pretty interesting and impactful. These opportunities have been huge for me and you guys are largely to thank.
Receiving the Lynch Family Legacy Scholarship has opened several doors for me. With this funding, I've been able to focus on my academics and maintain a 3.8GPA. I truly believe without this, I would be rushing through college, most likely failing classes, taking out loans, working multiple jobs, and being stressed out of my mind. But with this, I'm proud to say I'll be able to graduate debt free! I feel comfortable using a full four years to get my degree; I'm even considering adding a minor or certificate. On top of that, this scholarship has made the idea of medical school tangible since I feel I have a solid foundation. This is something I've always dreamed of and didn't really think could be reality until recently. I think "foundation" is a good word for what this scholarship means to me- it serves as the foundation of my education. Not only did this scholarship set me up financially, but serves as a reminder that I can achieve great goals and that there are people cheering me on. Thank you guys so so much!
